Jamie: Best part of my day was jumping on the trampoline and bouncing so high, and running in a circle. Getting my hair shaved and showing Daddy and Bella my haircut, and that was the best part of my day!
Bella: Best part of my day was jumping on the trampoline, when Jamie got his hair cut, getting my shower, doing my job as the Cricket Guard, and having tea this afternoon. And that was the best part of my day!
Daddy: Best part of my day was when I GOT MY JOB!!! And getting to talk to Mama for a while and helping her feel better, and beating this level at Candy Crush! What else did we do today...oh! Playing cooking with the kids. Yeah, getting my job was ultimately the best part of my day!
Mama: Best part of my day was when Daddy got his new job, wooohoooooooo!!! I am SO PROUD of him! Watching the kids jumping on the trampoline. Zeus didn't eat Daddy's spaghetti. The spaghetti sauce jar I dropped was empty, and not full, and no one got cut. And we had a nice, cool breeze this evening. Cutting Daddy's and Jamie's hair. And those were the best parts of my day!
Daddy: Oh, and getting my hair cut!
Bella: Oh, and seeing Daddy's and Jamie's haircuts!

I said "Cricket, stop it now!", or Why Bella is the Cricket Guard
Mama: There is a cricket in the house. Not by choice, mind you, but by chance. We have hunted and looked and moved things and done what we can to find the noisy little bugger to be able to set him free, but to no avail. For two entire days. It has whirred almost non-stop. For TWO. Whole. Days.
Normally, crickets don't bother me. I'm not a fan by any means, but that's only because one fell on my head once a long, log time ago while I was in the bathroom. Although The Cricket Incident occurred long ago and far away, I haven't ever gotten over it. The fact that I'm now sharing a roof with the noisy little runt has just about made me crazy. The combination of this species of cricket's particular pitch and the volume of the nearly-continuous thrum absolutely grates on my nerves. If it was the pleasant chirp-chirp-chirp that sets in during the late summer, it wouldn't annoy me nearly as much. Instead, this is a sustained, ceaseless din.
Eventually, if nothing else, the cricket will die and we'll go back to peace and quiet inside the house. But for now, Bella is the Cricket Guard and has the job of going to the kitchen and slamming cupboard doors a few times until it stops. Thank you, Bella, for your service! Mama loves you!!
