Why there's no post from Wednesday, July 26

Mama: Best part of our day was that we went out to Grandma and Papa's house and helped with chores! Grandma wasn't feeling well and Papa had a bunch of yardwork to do, so we went out to the Old Homestead to pitch in. Daddy helped Papa move plants and plant plants and mulch and lots of other stuff, and the kids got to have a ride around the yard in the trailer! I was amazed at how much fun they had!

Unfortunately, the big storm last week blew down one of their apple trees, but it turned out that it had a lot of beautiful green apples on it! Daddy and I picked all of the apples off and ended up with a huge box, and we're going to turn it into applesauce this weekend and can it up. Bella and Jamie babysat the baby while we did that, and they did an excellent job. We were very impressed!

We had spaghetti for dinner and then sat around talking afterwards, until we realized it was almost 10 o'clock! We rounded the kids up and by the time we got home and got them into bed, it was going on 11:30. Holy bananas! Even though it was a really late night, it turned out to be a fantastic day overall. And that was the best part of our day!
